Most of the Fairia Ibiza bags are made of Peruvian fabrics; bags made of the colourful well known Peruvian fabrics and the bags made of handwoven fabrics made of natural dyed wool.
In this blog I'd like to explain you a little more, how they dye the wool in a natural way. When I was in Peru, I've been to a workshop where they showed me how they dye the wool. It's so interesting! They use plants, herbs, vegetables and even insects for it! And did you know that they use these natural colours also as make-up?
They always start with cleaning the wool. They wash the wool with the Yuca plant and in the same way they wash their hair with it, Yuca is a natural shampoo! Maybe good to know that I never saw women with grey hair in Peru, so if you want to check it out, try it...
After they've washed the wool, they start with dying it. A picture says more than a thousands words, so here some pictures of the process of dying the wool naturally.
